Hi All

I create a window forms application and the option to enable Application Framework is Disable.  I'm trying to use the My.Form or My.Application and those short cut are not available for me to use, so I have to write the full line like system.windows.form or system.windows.form.application.  Any Idea why I can't check that option so I can use the short cut.

Can someone please help resolve this "unknown trust provider" error. What exactly does that mean...what is the nature of the problem? I've posted the contents of the log down below from the attempt to remove .Net Framework 4.5 from my computer

Problem with getting PHP to instantiate .NET object

$

0

I'm trying to use the SerialPort class via PHP's DOTNET function thus:

$serial = new DOTNET('System', 'System.IO.Ports.SerialPort');

This says:

PHP Fatal error:  Uncaught exception 'com_exception' with message 'Failed to instantiate .Net object [CreateInstance] [0x80070002] The system cannot find the file specified.

It seems that PHP does not work with .NET 4 but I also have 2.0, 3.0 and 3.5 installed on my windows 7 64-bit system, as shown bythis dotnet verifier log file

PHP manual says that I have to use a fully qualified class name with the DOTNET function which they illustrate thusly:

$full_assembly_string = 'System.Windows.Forms, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=a8425bc35256e463';
$full_class_name = 'System.Windows.Forms.Form';
$form = new DOTNET($full_assembly_string, $full_class_name);

My problem is that, knowing nothing about .NET, I don't know what the fully qualified class name for System.IO.Ports.SerialPort should be in its .NET 2.0 form. Can anyone help with that?

BTW: I'm using PHP 5.3.6 as a 32-bit application and as a command line utility rather than part of a web server.

Windows Service could not start. Error Code: 1053

My service is running well on all the other servers but in one particular server it responded like "Windows could not start the 'XXXX' service on local Computer".

 Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.

Keeping all the configuration same.

What could be the problem??

Thanks

I've been trying over and over to install this package. I believe it is because of our proxy server, but I've searched for resolution to this for quite some time without success.

Hi,

I am trying to install .netframework 3.5 sp1 on a Windows 2003 server, but it gives an error when framework 2 sp2 installs.  I have update the Windows Installer to v 4.5, tried to install each of the .net version separately but no luck.  any help will be appreciated.  below is the install log;

Can someone please tell me how to get Visual Studio 2012 to recognize that .NET Framework 4.0 and 4.5 are installed?

It seems that Microsoft is about 4 centuries away from creating self-healing software. I recently had to un-install .NET Framework 4.5 and 4.0. I then re-installed .NET Framework 4.0 and 4.5 in succession.

Trying to launch Visual Studio 2012 without .NET Framework 4.0 and 4.5 installed resulted in absolutely nothing happening other than a flash of the Visual Studio 2012 logo screen if I recall correctly. This is a travesty for a multi-billion dollar corporation to write software that is so oblivious to the reasons it can't get it's ass off the ground. "Hmmm, I wonder why I can't load up for the user? What could it be? If I knew I could post a message telling the user the problem but that would be too easy."

How about this Microsoft developer team. How about you actually check that the proper .NET Frameworks are installed when Visual Studio 2012 is launched. Sound like a good idea? I think so.

Good thing I already knew what the problem was. Even after re-installing both 4.0 and 4.5 .NET Frameworks Visual Studio appears to have been damaged beyond repair. It won't allow me to target either of the freshly installed frameworks. Nor does it show me most of the templates for creating a new project, such as ASP.Net MVC 4 which is the one I am specifically working with.

So, instead of a self-healing software product which could easily detect some of these problems. I am guessing I get to spend the next 3-4 days formatting my hard drive and re-installing everything fresh.

Need .Net Framework 4.0 and .Net Multi Targeting Framework 4.0 installer

I need to install .Net Framework 4.0 and .Net Multi Targeting Framework 4.0. I can install both by installing VS 2010, but we don't want to install the VS IDE. We just want to install those two part.

.Net Framework 4.0 is available that i have seen. But i am unable to find .Net multi targeting framework 4.0 separately. Can you please tell from where i can get the .Net multi targeting framework 4.0? Direct link would be very helpful.

.NET framework v2.0.50727

Yesterday my computer had a mini crash and now two programmes on the hard drive are telling me I need to have install .NET Framework v2.0.50727. However, looking in the programmes on the hard drive and this version is already installed, as well as v4.0.30319. Both versions have been on the hard drive for some time without a problem, now it is asking me to install one that is already there. Everything else on the computer works fine, it is just these two programmes that are having issues. What can i do to solve this problem?

After installation of VB_2010_express, TRUSTEDINSTALLER.EXE is running in loop !!

$

Yesterday I installed VB 2010 express from vb_web downloaded from MS site on my Win7 ASUS AMD-C50 notebook.

I got no message that the installation completed, however suddenly there was an ICON for VB2010 on the desktop and I could launch VB2010. I didn't yet try whether it's working properly, however by NB became rather slowly.

From resmon I recognized, that TRUSTEDINSTALLER.EXE is consuming quite a lot (about 30-35%) of my CPU.

When I shut down the system, my user was logged of and on the Windows screen was written, that 'one shoul not power of the system, because Windows is configuring something'.

When I returned to the NB today, it was showing up, the normal Logon screen - which told me, that it had rebooted during night. After logging on, I could verify that the system was still busy with TRUSTEDINSTALLER.exe. Also I could see lots of shutdown wermgr.exe instances in resmon.  When I was looking in the IO-activity window, I could see, that there was high traffic to C:\windows\logs\CBS\CBS.log.

After copying that file, I could see that up to 8 times each SECOND an error message is written repeatedly:

I also found a similar entry in the eventlog - windows error ID 1001:

I do not know for sure, whether the parameter P3 in the logged event entry might be wrongly constructed:  -W..provider-

but normally there should be no 2 consecutive dots in such parameter - can anyone confirm this?

Thanks for any hints on this - Wolfgang

Btw: I also could verify in the CBS.logs, that the TRUSTEDINSTALLER received a signal to shutdown, from the system yesterday, and kept on trying to complete its work within additional 3600 secs, before it finally terminated, tonight.

How to install/deploy my .NET application in many PCs??

For a long time, my development and production environment was based on native C++ and MFC. The deployment couldn't be simpler: I just copied the latest executable in a networked file server.

I recently switched to a .NET and C# environment which is nice BUT it comes with its own set of headaches.

It turns out that my first application MUST be compiled (with NGEN). Otherwise it runs about 40x slower. This means that I have to do this in every computer (again, and again and again and again, for every release):

C:\> ngen install xml2excel.exe

Is there a way to perform multiple, remote deployments?

TIA,

-Travis

I have a new computer, and this window pops up at startup and when I try to run some software. I've downloaded Frameworks Ver. 2 and installed it.
I still get that window when I try to run some of my software and the software won't run. I've reinstalled Ver. 2.0 several times with the same results.
I using windows 7 home. Is there a fix or additional software that I need to fix this problem. We have to new Laptops and they have the same problem.
