fixing .net frame work problem

Hi

There are two utilities that checks the .net frame work on the system , I downloaded both, one of them checks and gives no error ( netfx_setupverifier.exe ) and the other one ( NetFxRepairTool.exe ) shows a list of file that has error and must be sent for analysis and recommends to use msiexe to solve.

I read an article that is for older version of windows and recommend to reinstall the installed .net msi , but it is part of my windows installation and I dont have access to it/

I am using VS2012 on windows 8 , I tried to install .net 4.5 again by downloading the executable file, but the installer says its part of windows and can't be reinstalled.

Does anybody know how I can resolve the problem.

Offline MSDN installer for Visual Studio 2012 Ultimate

I just bought visual studio 2012 ultimate just to realize after installing that i have to manually pull of all the MSDN resources (something like 2 Gigs) from the internet.

Isn't there a single MSDN installer, with all the books and documentation, that i can download, and why vs 2012 unlike vs 2010 doesn't include msdn in the retail disk, is there any point in not doing so

Any version of .NET will not install Server 2003 SP2

Windows is reporting this is Windows Storage Server 2003 SP2 x64 build 5.2.3790.  I was originally having problems installing the .NET 3.5 SP1 and decided to rip out everything .NET.  I have tried downloading and installing every version i can find and had no luck.  I have ran the verification tools and cleanup tools and everything above .NET 2.0a fails.  I have tried to re-install basic 2.0 from Add/Remove Windows Components and then point it to NetFx64.exe I downloaded but it shuts down, no error or anything.  When Windows Update is ran it shows .NET 3.5 SP1 and Family update (KB951847) x64 and .NET 4 for windows 2003 x64 under optional software, but of course they fail as well.  I have cleaned out and removed the SoftwareDistribution folder and still nothing.  I ran sfc /scannow and everything is good, as well as chkdsk in read only mode.  I have logs everywhere but only say .net is not found.  Im willing to try anything just let me know what you need from me to help

C# side wont work as it should

I created an asp.net webpage using Visual studio, C#  and now I want to add an input and call it Upload, as I know, to get to the code behind,  you have to double click the "button" in the design view and then it would automatically take you to the .cs file. Not mine.. Here is what happened when I did double click the upload "button

Endpoint not found for Windows Service with WCF Endpoint

I am trying to follow the tutorial "How to: Host a WCF Service in a Managed Windows Service" (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms733069.aspx) which is supposed to help create a windows service that can be accessed via a WCF endpoint.  The trouble is, I have followed the tutorial exactly, but when I'm done, the endpoint is no where to be found.


I found another thread (http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/vstudio/en-US/bea6e0d8-e6f3-4870-852b-a64320f50aa6/wcf-windows-service-endpoint-address-what-to-use-when-not-using-iis) that asked the same question, and the answer pointed the OP to "Configuring HTTP and HTTPS" (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms733768.aspx). I tried the instructions there to register the end point by typing this into a command prompt:

netsh http add urlacl url=http://localhost:8000/TimberlineDataProvider/service  user=MyDomain\MyUser

And I got this back:

URL resvervation successfully added.

But, I still can not find the endpoint.  I am unable to add a reference to it in any project, and when I try, I get this error:

.net framework 4 installation failed with "%1 is not a valid win32 application"

Hi

I am trying to install .net framework 4 to my Dell laptop(xps-17 win7-64bit).

After I executed the file "dotNetFx40_Full_x86_x64.exe"

The installation failed almost immediately.

Dialog showed the reason "%1 is not a valid win32 application"

I copied the last part of the log file in below.

Can you help me to solve this problem?

problem when porting to x64 environment

Hi,

I have a vba declaration for some functions and i am implementing them in a cpp file as below

These functions were absolutely fine when i worked with 32 bit excel

vba declaration:

Declare PtrSafe Function getvalue Lib "myaddin" (ParamArray MemberList() As Variant) As Variant

Declare PtrSafe Function getinfo Lib "myaddin" (ByVal text As Variant) As Variant

C++ implementation:

extern "C" VARIANT __stdcall getinfo(VARIANT vtText)

{//my implementation}

extern "C" VARIANT __stdcall getvalue(SAFEARRAY **ppMemberList)

{//my implementation}

We are porting to 2013 64 bit excel and now the values for these functions comes invalid.  As this perfectly works in 32 bit, i want to know whether i need to do anything specific in 64 bit environment.

Note: I am building the solution in Visual Studio 210 with Debug64 and x64 platforms.

Can you please help with this issue.

Framework 3.5 Assembly GAC Versioning Issue

I have two very similar Windows 2008 R2 SP1 Servers

On one server, in the gac, the System.Windows.Forms assembly is at version 2.0.50727.5420

On the other, in the gac, the  System.Windows.Forms assembly is at version2.0.50727.5468

I cannot easily identify the software update or application installation that has incremented to the latest of these versions.

Without going in to great details as to why, I need to find out what to install on the former server to make the two versions exactly match.

Can anyone advise where I can source the MS package/product/installer that will update this assembly. I don't just want to take one version of the assembly and replace it with another, as it could be that there are dependencies that otherwise need to be satisfied.

On both servers, the only Windows Update offered is for a Malicious Software Removal Kit and I am guessing that that is not the answer.

VS2012 .NET Framework Exception on devenv.exe

It has been several months since I opened VS2012.  As I tried to open it I get "MS VS2012 has stopped working.  Windows is checking for a solution to problem."  Once done checking for a solution I am presented with "A problem has caused the program to stop working correctly.  Windows will close the program & notify you if a solution is available. [Debug] [Close program]".  I choose [Debug] and the other information I am given is "An unhandled Microsoft .NET Framework exception occurred in devenv.exe [####]" (#=different number each time).  At this point I cancel.

After an internet search and trying many different things to resolve this error, the most notable are:

Repairing VS2012, Uninstalling then Installing VS2012, Uninstalling .NET Framework 4.5 then Installing 4.0 (VS2012 would not start with 4.0), Uninstalled .NET Framework 4.0 then Installed >NET Framework 4.5, Devenv /ResetSettings, Devenv /Safemode

All have done nothing to change the problem.

GPMC and .net

I have a system running on Windows XP Professional SP2 with .net framework 3.0 SP1 installed.

 

I am trying to install the gpmc.msi package but I got the message to install the .net framework before the installation of the package.

 

I have tried to uninstall .net and reinstalled but the problem remains.

 

any help?

COM .NET DLL Cannot Object

We have a classic asp site

In one of the asp page(Page1), we are calling a asp.net 1.1 website within a iframe.  In the aspx page we are forming a tree structure using the DataGrid.

In another asp page(Page 2) we are calling a .net 3.5 dll registered as a COM object.

Its noticed that on several occasions that whenever Page 2 is accessed after Page 1, we get asp object instantiation error “80070002: cannot create object”. Also the .net COM object will not be available in Loaded Modules in “msinfo32”.

Page1 & Page 2 are using the same application pool and We have to recycle the app pool inorder to make Page2 functionable

Help on installing .NET 4.0 on my PC.

I have been reading some discussions and questions about installing .NET 4.0 on windows xp, but my case is quite unique. My PC has windows xp professional on it, but I've heard that my PC is different because it is an hp mini 1000. As far as I know this could be the problem (As I've read online) but I don't know how to fix it. apparently this computer runs a 32 bit version of windows xp and therefore it is not compatible with certain downloads. I'm not sure if this is true or not seeing as how the download finishes and then says that it will not download. I would like it if someone would shed some light on my problem. thanks. :)

Hellp Error Installing Net. Framework 4.5 2 error code 0xC8000222, and 0x000013EC

hello everybody,

my computer is :

windows 7 ultimate 64 bit. i dont know what my service pack LOL.

can you help me i try to instal net framework 4.5, first is erorr and the error code is 0xC8000222 the second is 0x000013EC.

then my computer is say they need configuring windows update its happen everyday i start my computer.

yes the windows update now work but system now in an error and every woke up say " Configuring Windows Update" stuck 0%.
