Support for VS2013 RC and Windows 8.1 app in Team Foundation Service

Hello,

Original question was in Team Foundation Service forums here.

I recently upgraded my VS2012 solution containing a Windows 8 Store app to VS2013 RC and Windows 8.1. I switch to the "8.1 Preview Build Controller" but the build currently fails with the following error message:

C:\a\src\.nuget\nuget.targets (70): The task factory "CodeTaskFactory" could not be loaded from the assembly "C:\Program Files (x86)\MSBuild\12.0\bin\Microsoft.Build.Tasks.v4.0.dll". Could not load file or assembly 'file:///C:\Program Files (x86)\MSBuild\12.0\bin\Microsoft.Build.Tasks.v4.0.dll' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.Am I doing something wrong or is this scenario not yet supported ?

Thanks

I have a bug trying to install .NET 4.5

NOTE: I was getting assistance from someone, but he seems to have disappeared, so I am starting a new thread.

I have Windows 7 Home Premium, SP1.

I am trying to install .NET 4.5 via dotnetfx45_full_x86_x64.exe and I keep getting a strange error.

The account I'm logged in as, Jean, is already being run as an Administrator, and when I tried to change the account type, the selection of the Administrator radio button made it such that the Change Account Type button would be disabled.

Here is the vslogs.cab file from the vscollect app (I renamed itvslogs_2 as I have an earlier one there.)

Hi, somehow my .NET framework has been deleted, and when i try to re install it, remove or repair it it comes up with an error. Wondering if there is a way to resolve this issue as it is not allowing me to do anything.

Offline MSDN installer for Visual Studio 2012 Ultimate

$

I just bought visual studio 2012 ultimate just to realize after installing that i have to manually pull of all the MSDN resources (something like 2 Gigs) from the internet.

Isn't there a single MSDN installer, with all the books and documentation, that i can download, and why vs 2012 unlike vs 2010 doesn't include msdn in the retail disk, is there any point in not doing so

Where can I download the full (standalone installer) version of .NET 4.5?

All I can find is this:

dotNetFx45_Full_setup.exe

which is only the 982k setup program not the full\network\standalone module.

Intalling .NET 4.0 on machine with existing .NET 4.5

I am trying to compile a solution targeted for .NET Framework 4.0 on a machine that already has a full install of VisualStudio 2012 with .NET Framework 4.5. When I try to install the 4.0 I am not able to. How do I install .NET 4.0 on this machine? I cannot change the solution at this time to target 4.5 - it must target 4.0 for now.

Failure when installing .NET 4.5, (2013-09-21-05:20)

I have Windows Home Premium, SP 1, with some updated unable to be completed because of an error with the .NET Client Profile (among others), for which I was advised to remove all the .NET installations and do a clean install.

This is what I did trying to install dotnetfx45_full_x86_x64.exe, and as well, dotNetFx40_Full_x86_x64.exe

- turned off all the anti-virus programs that are shown running on the taskbar

- ran intallation file via "Run as administrator" context menu command

When I go to Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\User Accounts, it shows the user as my name, then "Administrator" & password protected. I am not sure how to "make sure the user account is a member of the Administrators group".

The entry for that GUID in regedit is such that for all 4 users, the Allow checkbox is checked and is also disabled for all except RESTRICTED, in which the checkbox is enabled.

Here is the vslogs.cab file as per the vscollect.exe run:

Visual Studio 2012 Ultimate Downloaded from DreamSpark Fails Installation - Missing WebDeploy_x64.msi

Greetings,

I downloaded VS2012 Ultimate from DreamSpark (college faculty) and began an install on my Win7 64 bit/8GB RAM desktop.  It failed and reported "Unable to locate source" and listed C:\VS2012Download\Visual Studio Ultimate 2012 (x86) - Web Installer (English)\packages\WebDeploy\WebDeploy_x64.msi as the missing file.   After I cancel I receive the final message:  "A required certificate is not within its validity period when verifying against the current system clock or the timestamp in the signed file.".

I also have a clean Azure instance of 2008 Svr R2 that I attempted the installation on and received the same results.  I suspect the download.  Any ideas?

Thanks much!

.NET Framework 4.0 Web & Standalone Installer Fatal Error

$

Have tried any and all solutions I could find on google OUTSIDE of the MSDN community. Nothing has worked, I have ran the cleanup utility and done fresh installs (at the right times). I have tried to .net framework repair utility which could not fix the problem it just produced a variety of log files. I read in another support topic about Collect.exe and uploading the vs logs cab file to my SkyDrive. I have done that, but this site will not let me post links to anything until they can "verify my account" leaving me unsure as to how to give you guy's my log files!

No programs I have tried to use that require the .NET framework work properly. I can open them and that's about it; just another visual on the monitor. Thus, my goal of being able to run any and all programs that require the .net framework to operate properly AND to eliminate any and all current .net framework problems on my machine.

I'm running windows 7 ultimate 64-bit sp1 if any more information is required please do not hesitate to ask as I will be checking this thread quite frequently as I look to resolve this issue as fast as I possibly can!

Thanks for your time, and if you are interested in lending a hand and require the log files, just let me know how I can get them to you and I'm on it like white on rice, thanks again!

NOTE:Just tried installing a program which required the .NET Framework 4.0; it alerted me I did not have that installed and it could do that for me. When I chose to do that it launched the official installer from Microsoft but again, fatal error.

The program continued to install properly but fails to initialize and operate without the framework installed. So I cannot even run any framework applications, at all right now.

Problem running an application

We have an application installed on our server (Windows Server 2008 R2). If you log in as any user/administrator, you can run the program, and open multiple instances of it. If 2 users/administrators (in any order)  try to run the application however, the 2nd user can not open it. These are the notes from the event log. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
