Can no longer find a download for .Net 3.0 Service Pack 2

Hello, I am in need of finding an official download of .Net Framework 3.0 SP2 for windows XP. I am aware of the EOL nature of the OS and that version of .Net but my circumstances require me to support it. The machines that needs this unfortunately are running on very constrained hardware that cannot be changed and can't take the full .Net 3.5 installation.

I don't need any help with .Net itself, i was just surprised that MS removed the installers from their download center since i can still find .Net 2.0 and 1.1 on there. Does anybody have an official download for Version 3.0 SP2 of the .Net framework and if not who should i contact at Microsoft to obtain one?

Dear all,

I would like to confirm what installation package is for the following .NET Framework version.

.NET Framework version 4.0.30319 (NDP40-KB2468871-v2-x64?)

.NET Framework version 2.0.50727.5420 (NetFx20_x64.exe? / NetFx20SP1_x64.exe? / NetFx20SP2_x64.exe?)

Thanks and regards,
Steven

Why is Net Framework 2 needed for VB powerpacks when I have 4.5?

$

0

I just changed to Win8.1 from 7 and just downloaded VS Express 13.  Want to update my 2012 projects that use VB Power Packs so I can see if a (reported by me) bug that was in VS express 2012 remains in 2013.

To install VB PP I am prompted to install Net Framework 2 even though Ihave Net Framework 4.5

Really?  Clutter up my programs folder with 2.0?

Editorial vent:

What is wrong here?   What am I missing?  Like 2.0 is prehistoric.
17 days until XP dies and MS still promotes  Net Framework 2.

ngen.exe under the hood

While documentation says ngen.exe create a cached image of the exe, I have no idea of what happens.

Furthermore, I have noticed that if I run ngen.exe from several path to the same exe it always does the compile so it doesn't know if has been already run.

So I have 3 questions:

1) How I can know if ngen had been processed for a certain .exe ?

2) Where I can found the cached images created by ngen.exe

3) How I can be sure the exe I'm running uses or not these images?

Thank you

Dear Colleagues,

I have one issue and hope that somebody maybe can help me.

Namely I want to install one service via installutil and got some error messages.

What I did is next :

3) Executed next command : C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319\installutil TestService.exe /name=TestService_01 /display=TestService_01

Instead to get my service installed I get next error message :

Exception occurred while initializing the installation:
System.BadImageFormatException: Could not load file or assembly 'file:///C:\InstallFolder\bin\TestService.exe' or one of its dependencies. An attempt was made to load a program with
an incorrect format..

Can somebody maybe help with this. Why I get this Bad Format exception.

.Net Framework installation and Windows Explorer crashes

Hey everyone. I'm currently using an Alienware 18 laptop that I recently purchased through Dell. It is a brand new laptop that was sent to me after my first one was a dud. After running into many issues with simple installation problems (3rd party programs) and 6 hours on the phone with Microsoft, I was forced to do a system repair with the OS disk. The problem is it didn't fix the Framework issue. When I download new drivers for my video cards it will even tell me that the installation failed for .Net framework.

So I tried downloading the framework 4 from Microsoft and I receive a "Fatal Error during installation" error message. In addition, my Windows Explorer keeps crashing. It is causing widespread system instability while playing video games. I have ruled out hardware issues and drivers (for GPU) entirely. Here is the log file.... Maybe someone here can shed some light on a potential fix! Thanks for your time.

To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this

The application must also be compiled with debugging

How do I enable this? It just keeps popping up it is so annoying!

Which .NET Framework do I download?

Please advise, if you would.

I need to install a program called SimPE which enables me to recolor custom content for the Sims 2.

It requires Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 in order to run SimPE, but I do not know if there is another version I must download for Windows 7 now. I do not want to install a .NET Framework version that is not compatible with my new computer.

Thank you,

Version Information: Microsoft .NET Framework Version:2.0.50727.1433; ASP.NET Version:2.0.50727.1433

From that last line it appears the IIS is running only ASP.NET 2.0xxx. I have ASP.NET 3.5 installed.

So, is the problem in fact that IIS is using the wrong version of ASP.NET and if so how do I go about changing it. Or is this another problem altogether.

Thanks in advance.

0x240006 error.

I've already tried a lot of solutions from the questions here, but no luck for me. I did try the standalone installer and the "assembly2" method, so what is there left?
