Second occurrence in a month. First occurrence resulted in a re-image of the machine.
Windows 7 Enterprise 64
Logged off my machine last night. Logged in this morning and now receiving the following error when running any .Net applications.
The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000142). Click OK to close the application.
Also get the error when trying to build applications using Visual Studio 2010.
Steps taken while attempting to resolve:
- Removed and re-installed all .Net layers- Ran full repair
on Visual Studio 2010 installation
- Ran Microsoft Dependency Checker against several of the application .exe files but was unable to determine the missing resource
- Ran Microsoft System File Checker (SFC) without result
- Ran Microsoft Safety Scanner without result
- Booted into safe mode and tested applications but received same error
Any help on where to post this or how to resolve the problem would be most appreciated as I don't want to re-image again if avoidable.
